Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium ����Zhejiang Investment & Trade
Symposium (ZJITS) sponsored by Zhejiang Provincial People��s Government,
and China International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) sponsored by China
National Ministry of Commerce and Zhejiang Provincial People��s
Government are organized by Ningbo Municipal People��s Government and
Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Department of Zhejiang Province. It
has been a platform to promote the further opening-up of Zhejiang
Province in multi-levels and divergent areas. Since 1999, seven
symposiums have been held successively. The province had received a total
of 50,000 overseas guests from more than 100 countries and regions, with
2,400 foreign-funded projects had concluded the agreements, amounting to
a total investment of 36 billion US dollars with a contractual foreign
investment of 18.3 billion US dollars. Meanwhile, the accumulative volume
of business for foreign trade had hit 2.7 billion US dollars since CICGF
was held during the same period as ZJITS in 2002.

The 8th Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium (ZJITS) and the 5th China
International Consumer Goods Fair (CICGF) is to be held in the famous
Chinese port city of Ningbo on June 8-12,2006.

The 8th ZJITS��the 5th CICGF is comprised of International Investment
Negotiation, Trade Exhibition (with an imported Goods Fair), Forum on
Zhejiang Opening-up, Introduction of Talents and Technology and others.
During the Symposium, China Daily CEO Roundtable will be held, projects
on advanced manufacturing sectors, service, infrastructure and other
fields will be presented for cooperation with foreign investment. More
than 10 matchmaking business talk on FDI will be organized and about
10,000 kinds of high quality products with famous brands from over 1000
companies will be exhibited.

Its added value was 37.758 billion yuan, up by 18.7%.

Transportation
Freight carried by various means of transport for the year was 7.4% up
from the previous year to reach 393.89 billion ton-kilometers, while
passengers carried by various means of transport numbered 172.453
billion, 14.5% up.

Postal services
The annual turnover of postal operations totaled 5.508 billion yuan,
1.4% up from the previous year.

Telecommunications
The annual turnover of telecommunications services totaled 174.664
billion yuan, up by 52.1%.

Retail
The annual turnover from retail sales reached 637.042 billion yuan, an
increase of 10.4% from the previous year.

Tourism
Revenue from tourism totaled 166.39 billion yuan, up by 24.3%.
